Gear Bronze Bar Stock

High tin content, this alloy is used predominantly in gear manufacturing. It performs well in soldering, with high tensile and compressive strength, and fairly well in welding. This alloy has exceptional resistance to wear. The high tin content strengthens the bronze. It can be machined, though it doesn’t respond well to heat treatment.

Typical Uses

Industrial - Gears and gear boxes, bearings, bearings for heavy loads, worm wheels, valve bodies, restaurant equipment, speed reducers
